The Armstrong Gold Maple (Acer rubrum 'JFS-KW78') can grow up to 40 feet tall and 12 feet wide, a more medium sized columnar tree from the Acer family. It has a columnar shape with gold-orange foliage that has a pattern of yellow and orange. The Armstrong Gold Maple is a member cultivated from the Red Maple, which is native to the Eastern United States. Having strong wood, it is well suited as a street tree in northern and mid-southern climates in residential and other suburban areas. Probably not suited for many downtown areas due to poor, dry soil. These maples, when used in landscaping properly can make a stunning row or block of columnar color.
